Honestly, the things we tell ourselves🫣 blows my mind when you truly see it for what it is! Avoidance - doing the easy things over the harder ones because they are uncomfortable, and push you out of your comfort zone....ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!🤣
Sometimes I get a bit drained by winter, purely because I know I am her main source of exercise. I focus so heavily on tracking and movement because she spends more time in the stable than out. Not great for her hocks, I know, but she loves her stable, the rest she gets from the mud, and time to recover. What it doesn't help is her brain, so having her daily jaunts keeps her ticking over and this winter has been our best for that.
Saturday I saw that we had ALOT of rain coming in and the app is saying a week of rain, my initial response was, yay a rest for me, quick trips to the yard, so I can finally tackle the house! Then I felt guilty because it's not great for her to have a week off, especially at this crucial point in the season.
Then I saw it for what it was, my old lack of confidence and avoidance patterns, my mind rationalising why I should take time off. As I mucked out I made a tonne of excuses to myself to try and get out of riding my freshly clipped horse, in the cold and windy weather!
Then I could have gone home, because here too I am avoiding doing the housework, so instead I got on the horse.....🤣!
Had a lovely 20-minute hack with the gorgeous girl, celebrated just cracking on and went home to clean the friiggin house!🤣💪
Seriously, does anyone else get this???
